Lucas Torreira to join Serie A club?
Arsenal are reportedly planning to recall Lucas Torreira from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid and could send him to Fiorentina for the rest of the season.
The Uruguayan was deemed surplus to requirements in the summer and he therefore made the move to Atletico on a season-long loan with no option to buy.
However, he has since failed to secure regular first-team football and he has made only six appearances in the Spanish top-flight with an average of 33 minutes per game.
The Gunners are obviously concerned that the limited playing time will reduce his transfer value and they are prepared to terminate his loan contract in the coming days.
Fiorentina were in the running to sign Torreira last year and Mundo Deportivo claims that they are looking to loan him for the backend of the current campaign.
Torreira still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his Arsenal contract. It was suggested that he could take up Thomas Partey's position at Atletico, but that has clearly not been the case.
