Arsenal convinced by Houssem Aouar - Fabrizio Romano

Houssem Aouar news

Arsenal still interested in Aouar

Arsenal remain convinced that Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar would be the ideal signing for them to improve their creativity.

The Frenchman was heavily linked with the Gunners last summer, but ultimately, they failed to meet the asking price for his services.

Still, they continue to remain interested in signing him and Fabrizio Romano has said that they are convinced over the player's ability.

However, the price tag continues to remain a major stumbling block and they are unlikely to afford the £53.3m fee at the moment.

The Gunners have already offloaded the likes of Sead Kolasinac and Matt Macey on loan and they have reportedly agreed to terminate Mesut Ozil's deal.

That should free up wages to spend on new signings, but they are still unlikely to meet the asking price for Aouar in a straight-cash deal.

Arsenal have recently picked up form in the Premier League and they have attained 10 points from the previous four matches.
