AC Milan sign Chelsea defender on loan
AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea on loan with the option to buy in the summer.
The England international was largely out-of-favour under Frank Lampard this term and he managed only four appearances in all competitions.
Initially, Lampard suggested that Tomori could leave on loan, but he remains part of his plans for the long-term.
However, after a prolonged round of negotiations, Milan have signed the centre-back on loan with a buy option worth £25m.
The Rossoneri are scheduled to face Atalanta in the Serie A tomorrow and Tomori could be handed his debut for the club.
Alessio Romagnoli and Simon Kjaer have been the regular central defensive pairing, but the former is suspended for the Atalanta clash.
Elsewhere, Kjaer is not 100 per cent fit either. Tomori could find himself partnering Pierre Kalulu, who has impressed as the back-up option.
Milan are currently top of the Serie A standings with a three-point lead over arch-rivals Inter.
