Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly assured Donny van de Beek that he will be used regularly during the backend of the season.

The Dutchman joined the Red Devils from Ajax in the summer, but he has since experienced a tough debut season with only 918 minutes of playing time to date.

A number of clubs are interested in signing him on loan this month, but Solskjaer has no plans of sanctioning a temporary deal for the midfielder.

According to The Athletic, Solskjaer has held face-to-face talks with Van de Beek and informed him that he will start more matches.

Van de Beek earned a rare start against Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round, but he was largely ineffective before being substituted.

He has scored one goal in his United career and that came during the 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League opener.

He has been an unused substitute in the past six league games, but will be hoping to feature against Sheffield United in midweek.
