Sergio Aguero to join Barcelona this summer?

Manchester United striker Sergio Aguero would welcome a move to Barcelona at the end of the season.

The Argentine's current deal with the Cityzens expires in June and it appears unlikely whether he would sign a fresh contract.

He has been linked with a possible return to Independiente in the past, but Cadena Ser claims that the 32-year-old could head to the Camp Nou.

The Blaugrana hierarchy have made contact with his agent and have known that the marksman would be delighted to join them.

The Catalan giants are currently unclear whether captain Lionel Messi will renew his contract beyond the end of June.

Aguero, who is a compatriot of Messi, is also one of his best friends and the club are hopeful that his arrival may entice their captain to stay.

Aguero has played just five league games this term and has missed plenty of matches due to multiple injuries and coronavirus.

He is expected to be ruled out for Sunday's crunch Premier League clash against Liverpool away from home.
