German club desperate to sell defender to Liverpool

Schalke 04 are reportedly 'desperate' to sell Ozan Kabak to Liverpool during this summer's transfer window.

The 20-year-old joined the Reds on loan earlier this month and the club have the option to buy him for around £17m.

According to Fussball Transfers, Schalke are already preparing for life in the second tier after managing just nine points from 22 games this term.

The club are already going through a tough financial situation and they are hopeful that the burden will be eased with the Reds buying Kabak.

Kabak made his third appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side during the recent 2-0 Premier League defeat to Everton at Anfield.

The Reds have been in a dreadful run of form since the turn of the year and they have now suffered four straight league defeats.

They have also succumbed to four successive league losses at Anfield for only the second time in their history, the previous being in 1923.
