Manchester United enter contract talks with defender
Manchester United have reportedly entered talks with defender Eric Bailly regarding a new contract.
The 26-year-old has been with the Red Devils since 2016, but has struggled to nail down a starting role due to numerous short-term injuries.
Still, he has impressed when offered the opportunity and the club are looking to reward him with a new contract with a salary hike.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils are likely to sign a new centre-back this summer, but they are still looking to extend Bailly's stay.
The Ivorian's current deal expires in June 2022 and reports claim that the club will sell him, suppose he is reluctant to agree terms before the summer.
Bailly played 90 minutes of the midweek Europa League tie against Real Sociedad but was an unused substitute against Chelsea in the league on Sunday.
It is quite clear that Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire are the preferred central defensive combination under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Bailly has a decision to make whether he wants to remain at the club or not.
