Arsenal bracing for striker's departure

Alexandre Lacazette news

Arsenal preparing for Lacazette's exit

Arsenal are reportedly bracing for the departure of Alexandre Lacazette when he enters the final year of his contract this summer.

Lacazette has been with the Gunners since the summer of 2017 and over the past three-and-a-half seasons, he has netted 59 goals from 157 appearances.

His contract with the club expires in June next year and manager Mikel Arteta recently said that no negotiations will be held until the summer.

According to Football.London, the Gunners are looking into the future and they don't consider extending Lacazette's stay as a worthwhile option.

Lacazette will be 30 in two months' time and the north London giants are prepared to cash in with interest from Atletico Madrid and AS Roma.

Atletico have held a keen interest in the Frenchman and they were close to signing him in 2017 before they were handed a transfer ban by FIFA.

Both them and Roma attempted to sign the marksman last summer and they could land him for a reduced fee when the transfer window reopens.
