Arsenal to compete with Aston Villa for Celtic striker

Arsenal could compete with the likes of Aston Villa and Leicester City in the race to sign Odsonne Edouard during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are bracing for the departures of Eddie Nketiah, Alexandre Lacazette and Folarin Balogun and Edouard is an option to strengthen the centre-forward department.

According to the Scottish Daily Mail, the Hoops have reduced their asking price from £40m to £20m with the striker entering the final year of his contract.

The Gunners will prove an attractive destination for the former Paris Saint-Germain graduate, but there is plenty of competition for his services.

Villa, who are above the Gunners on the table, are said to hold an interest while Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is also keen on a reunion.

Aside from the duo, AS Roma are likewise in the running to sign the marksman as they anticipate the departure of Edin Dzeko.

Odegaard has netted 20 goals in all competitions for the Hoops this season with 16 of those coming in the Scottish Premiership.
