Mikel Arteta confirms injury blow for Martin Odegaard
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that Martin Odegaard could be sidelined for the next two games with a knee injury.
The Norwegian suffered the problem on international duty last month, but he managed to play the entire game against Liverpool last weekend.
However, he was absent for the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final against Slavia Prague, and could miss the reverse meeting as well.
"We don’t know, he wasn’t able to play today, and he will be out I think for the next game or two – but we don’t know yet," Arteta told Arsenal.com.
The Gunners failed to make the most of their scoring chances against Slavia on Thursday, and they eventually settled for a frustrating 1-1 draw.
Nicolas Pepe opened the scoring five minutes from time, but the joy was shortlived as Slavia levelled the scores in stoppage time.
The Gunners must score on the road to Slavia next week or else they could face a shock elimination from the competition.
