Lingard and Declan Rice set for swap deal?
Manchester United's ongoing pursuit of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice could draw to a close this summer, with Jesse Lingard set to be offered as a makeweight in a transfer deal.
Lingard has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for West Ham United since his loan move began, and there are reports that David Moyes wants to sign the player on a permanent basis.
Despite Moyes' best efforts to keep midfielder Declan Rice at the club, the England international midfielder is ready to try his luck elsewhere, as both Chelsea and Man Utd continue to monitor his transfer situation. With West Ham valuing the midfielder in excess of £55 million, the youngster is not going to come cheap though, and thus United are considering offering Lingard as part of a swap deal.
Lingard has bagged six goals in 8 games since his loan spell at the club began, and has forced his way back in to England manager Gareth Southgate's plans ahead of this summer's delayed Euro 2020 tournament.
It is understood that Lingard is ready to make a permanent move to the Hammers, but only if the club can increase his current salary - which is believed to be in the region of £110,000 - and then ensure regular first-team football for the duration of a three-year deal.
