Chelsea receive boost in signing Gianluigi Donnarumma
Chelsea have been handed a boost in signing AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer this summer.
The Italian has spent his entire career with the Rossoneri, but he could leave for free when his contract expires in June.
The Rossoneri have been in negotiations with him, but he has yet to be convinced to sign a new deal with the club.
Donnarumma is wary that the Rossoneri could miss out on Champions League football amid their recent run of form.
Milan are currently second on the league table, but they are only four points ahead of fifth-placed Napoli, who are in a better run.
In case they miss out on the top four, he is likely to leave on a free transfer and the Blues could be among the front-runners to sign him.
The Blues have Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga in their ranks, but the latter could be sold during the summer.
Mendy has been a quality purchase from Rennes, but they are still keeping a close watch on Donnarumma's situation at Milan.
