Chelsea handed boost in signing Real Madrid star
Chelsea have been handed a boost in signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane during the summer transfer window.
Varane recently said that he is 100 percent committed for the season, but refused to speak about his long-term future.
According to AS, the centre-back is preparing for a summer departure with the lack of progress in the contract talks.
Varane's current deal expires in 14 months, and Los Blancos have not made any serious efforts to renew his contract.
It is added that the club are open to sanctioning his sale for around £61m with the imminent arrival of David Alaba.
Alaba has agreed terms on a pre-contract, and he is expected to join them after the expiry of his Bayern Munich deal in June.
Chelsea are keen on landing the Frenchman's services with manager Thomas Tuchel being a huge admirer of him.
Tuchel will be backed with funds from the hierarchy, and he has identified Varane as his top target for the summer.
