Arsenal face competition for Emiliano Buendia

Arsenal face fresh competition from Aston Villa in the pursuit of Norwich City attacker Emiliano Buendia.

Buendia had a superb 2020/21 campaign for the Canaries, registering 15 goals and 17 assists from 39 Championship outings.

Daniel Farke's side are back in the Premier League, but they are open to parting ways with their leading stars for the right price.

The Gunners have identified Buendia as the ideal replacement for Martin Odegaard, who will return to Real Madrid this summer.

Odegaard has been a positive influence during his short-term loan deal, and Madrid plan to integrate him into their plans next season.

The Gunners will need to pay around £40m for Buendia, but it appears that they could face fresh competition from the Villans.

Dean Smith's side have already made enquiries for the attacker. Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the 24-year-old.

Buendia's excellent form recently earned him a maiden call-up with Argentina for the World Cup qualifiers next month
