AC Milan are set to land the signature of Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on a permanent deal, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims.

Tomori failed to nail down a starting role under Frank Lampard earlier last season, and he was loaned out to Milan in January.

He made 17 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri as they qualified for the Champions League on the final matchday.

It is now reported that Milan will sign him on a permanent basis by triggering the £25m buy clause agreed in January.

Milan were hoping to reduce the fee, but were unable to do so. They are now expected to sanction the permanent move.

The San Siro giants are also on the cusp of landing Olivier Giroud when his contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the month.

The Blues recently proposed a new deal for the World Cup winner, but he has decided to move on due to the lack of game time.
