Arsenal to replace Alexandre Lacazette with Lyon star?

Moussa Dembele news

Dembele to replace Lacazette at Arsenal?

Arsenal have identified Lyon striker Moussa Dembele as a potential replacement for Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

Lacazette top scored for the Gunners last term with 17 goals, but he was largely on the bench for the final weeks of the season.

His current deal expires in June next year, and The Telegraph claims that he could be shown the exit door in the coming weeks.

It is added that Dembele is the leading target to replace him despite his nightmarish spell with Atletico Madrid on loan.

Dembele joined Atletico on loan in January with a broken arm, and he went on to contract coronavirus during his time with the club.

He failed to make a single league start for Atletico, and they eventually decided against triggering the buy option.

Dembele has two years remaining on his Lyon contract, and he is widely expected to be sold in this summer's transfer window.

He was valued at £50m in the past, but could be available for half the price after Lyon's failure to qualify for the Champions League.
