Chelsea confirm contract extensions for experienced duo
Chelsea have confirmed that they have extended the contracts of Thiago Silva and Olivier Giroud for another campaign.
The Blues recently won the Champions League title for the second time in their history with a 1-0 win over Manchester City.
It was widely expected that Thiago Silva's deal would be extended, and they have triggered a contract clause to do so.
It appears that they had a similar option on the contract of French striker Giroud. They exercised the clause in April.
Giroud was expected to leave the Blues on a free transfer, but the club are now in a position to command a fee.
AC Milan have been in contact with his representatives, and it remains to be seen whether they are still interested.
West Ham United have also been linked with the former Arsenal man, who has more than 100 caps for France.
Giroud hardly played under Thomas Tuchel, and may want to secure regular game time to extend his international career.
