Aston Villa set to sign Emiliano Buendia
Aston Villa have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race to Norwich City attacker Emiliano Buendia this summer.
The Argentine has been linked with a move away from the Canaries after registering 15 goals and 17 assists in the Championship last term.
The Villans and Gunners have been mentioned as the main admirers, and Goal.com claims that the former are on the cusp of landing him.
They have made a bid of around £35m plus add-ons for the versatile forward, and the Gunners have yet to match the offer for the player.
Meanwhile, it is reported elsewhere that the north London giants have not made any approach for the Argentine despite the regular links.
It was suggested that he could be the alternative to Martin Odegaard, who may not rejoin them from Real Madrid this summer.
However, the Gunners appear to have other plans in mind, and the Villans are on the cusp of signing Buendia from the Canaries.
