Manchester United will need to pay around £50m in order to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White this summer.

White had an impressive debut Premier League season with the Seagulls, missing just two games through the campaign.

He was recently handed his maiden England cap against Austria, and he is now part of their 26-man squad for Euro 2020.

According to The Mail, the Seagulls are keen to keep White next season, and have placed a hefty £50m price tag on his head.

United are long-term admirers of the 23-year-old. They have regularly been linked with him over the past few months.

It has been reported that Harry Maguire wants an English partner alongside him, with White considered as the top target.

It remains to be seen whether they are willing to meet the valuation set by the Seagulls or move on to other targets.

Liverpool have also been linked with White, but their interest may have cooled after landing Ibrahima Konate from Leipzig.
