Manchester United, Chelsea to miss out on Raphael Varane?
Manchester United and Chelsea have suffered a blow in the pursuit of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
The Frenchman has been tipped to leave Los Blancos this summer after turning down a new contract beyond June 2022.
It was recently claimed that Varane could be heading to the Premier League with interest from the Blues and Red Devils.
However, according to El Confidencial, he has his sights on returning to Ligue 1 after a decade with the Madrid giants.
The centre-back is currently on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, and they are deemed favourites to sign him this summer.
This will come as a blow for the Premier League giants, who are keen to bolster their respective central defences.
Aside from Varane, Sevilla's Jules Kounde has been linked with both clubs, but he won't come on the cheap for them.
Kounde has a release clause worth €80m on his Sevilla contract. The La Liga club want at least €60m to sanction his sale.
