Arsenal agree terms with Belgian midfielder
Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga ahead of his potential transfer, Football Insider claims.
The 21-year-old has been identified as their top midfield target, and they are in advanced negotiations with Anderlecht.
Their opening bid of £13 million was rejected. They are expected to come up with a fresh offer, meeting the £17 million asking price.
According to Football Insider, Lokonga has already agreed terms over a five-year contract with the north London giants.
The move could be finalised in the coming days, with Anderlecht prepared to sell due to their ongoing financial concerns.
The Gunners are planning a mega spending spree this summer, and they are keen on landing two central midfielders.
Aside from Lokonga, they could pursue the signature of Yves Bissouma from Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
Bissouma is valued at around £40 million. The Gunners could lower the price tag by offering Eddie Nketiah as a makeweight in the deal.
