Arsenal are reportedly said to prefer the signing of a homegrown goalkeeper over Andre Onana this summer.

Onana has been heavily linked with the Gunners over the past few months, and it was recently claimed that they could make an offer.

The Cameroon international is serving a FIFA-imposed ban at the moment, but the punishment was recently reduced by three months.

He is unavailable to play until November 4. However, he could return to team training from the first week of September.

According to football.london, the Gunners have yet to make an approach for Onana despite holding talks with his agent.

It is added that they are looking into signing a homegrown keeper with Sheffield United's Aaron Ramsdale an option.

Onana could be available for just £9m this summer, with his current contract with Ajax due to expire in 12 months.

The Gunners are still undecided over a move for him, considering he could be absent for more than four months next term.

Aside from his ban, he could be absent for around four weeks in January and February due to African Cup of Nations duty.
