Norwich City close to Billy Gilmour deal
Norwich City are close to signing Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the best young players at Chelsea, but he has yet to become a regular.
He was restricted to only 11 senior appearances last term. The club are willing to loan him out to gain experience.
According to Sky Sports News, Gilmour has agreed personal terms with the Canaries ahead of his loan move.
He will undergo his medical with the club following the completion of his COVID-19 quarantine next week.
Gilmour is expected to fill the void left by Oliver Skipp, who has returned to Tottenham Hotspur after his temporary stint.
Norwich have been busy in the early phase of the transfer window, and have already signed Angus Gunn and Milot Rashica.
They were relegated from the Premier League in 2019/2020 after barely making new additions to the squad.
The hierarchy are prepared to back manager Daniel Farke with funds this time around to boost their survival prospects.
