Manuel Locatelli news

Locatelli wanted by Arsenal this summer

Arsenal have reportedly made an official bid for Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

The Italy international has impressed at the European Championships this summer, registering two goals from three appearances.

It was recently claimed that Juventus had agreed terms with the midfielder, and they were in pole position to land his signature.

However, according to CEO Giovanni Carnevali, that does not appear the case, and the Gunners are the only ones who have made an offer.

The Sassuolo chief revealed that the north London club have lodged an important bid, and they are pushing to sign the midfielder.

Locatelli is expected to decide on his future after the European Championships. The Gunners may find it tough to convince him.

The club won't be playing in Europe for the first time in 26 years, and this could hamper their prospects of landing the Italian.

The Gunners are keen on signing two midfielders this summer. They have already sealed a deal for Anderlecht's Albert Lokonga.
