Olivier Giroud to depart Chelsea for Milan
Olivier Giroud is to call time on his 9 year stay in the Premier League after spells with Arsenal and Chelsea. AC Milan have agreed a 2 million euro fee for the Frenchman.
The 34-year-old striker, who signed for Chelsea in 2018 and has scored 17 goals in 75 appearances, looks set to move to Serie A to link up with former Arsenal chairman Ivan Gazidis at the San Siro with AC Milan. The Serie A giants have agreed a fee with Chelsea for the 6 foot 4 player.
According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the striker has already agreed personal terms with Milan. The player's contract will see him move to Italy until at least 2023, earning 100,000 euros per week at his new side.
Having helped Chelsea to Champions League glory last season, Giroud has opted for a fresh challenge in another top European league and believes that Serie A could present the best opportunity to call time and finish up his professional career.
AC Milan will beat Lyon, Everton and Brazilian side Corinthians to secure a deal for the French international striker.
