Tottenham Hotspur confident of signing Arsenal defensive target

Tottenham Hotspur are confident of landing Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu ahead of arch-rivals Arsenal.
Spurs entered talks with the Serie A outfit last month, but they have yet to finalise a transfer fee for the Japanese defender.
The north Londoners are prepared to offer £15.5m including add-ons, but Bologna want around £17.2m for the 22-year-old.
Talks are expected to continue this week, and Football Insider claims that the club are confident of sealing the deal soon.
It was recently reported by Gianluca Di Marzio that the Gunners had joined Spurs in the hunt to sign the versatile defender.
However, this has not deterred Spurs, who believe the transfer is around the corner. Tomiyasu has already agreed personal terms.
Tomiyasu can play as a centre-back or right-back. Spurs have identified him as a possible replacement for Toby Alderweireld.
Alderweireld has two years remaining on his Spurs contract. He has reportedly told the hierarchy that he would like to leave this summer.
