Arsenal reach agreement to sign Belgian midfielder
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Anderlecht to sign Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano reports.
The Gunners have been in advanced negotiations for the midfielder in recent weeks, and they have eventually finalised a suitable deal.
They are expected to pay around €17.5 million up front with a remaining €4m in the form of easily achievable add-ons.
Lokonga is expected to undergo his medical tests today. His arrival will be announced by the club after his quarantine.
Lokonga is unlikely to feature for the Gunners in their pre-season training camp in Scotland, but Nuno Tavares could be involved.
He is expected to sign his contract after a successful quarantine. The Portuguese is set to become the club's first summer signing.
The Gunners are scheduled to face Hibernian in a friendly on July 13. Four days later, they take on reigning Scottish champions Rangers.
It will be a commemorative friendly to mark the 150th anniversary of Rangers. The friendly was once known as the 'Game of Champions'.
