Liverpool eye move for Federico Chiesa

Chiesa - one of Italy's top talents

Liverpool have tabled a reported 80 million euro offer for Italian international forward Federico Chiesa. The 23-year-old has caught the eye in this summer's Euro 2020 tournament.

According to a report circulating yesterday, Chiesa, who currently plays for Juventus on loan from Fiorentina, has impressed the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and the German has made Italian starlet Chiesa his number one transfer target this summer. Chiesa scored a crucial goal in the semi-final victory over Spain, but prior to that has shown numerous excellent performances for his country during the tournament.

It is understood that Liverpool will do battle with Juventus to sign Chiesa on a permanent deal, with the Old Lady reportedly having the first option to sign the player on a full-time basis.

Liverpool are rumoured to be considering a summer shake up now that the transfer market is open, and are considering sales of Divock Origi and could even entertain offers for Sadio Mane.

Chiesa appeared 30 times for Juventus last season, with a respectable return of 8 goals. Federico is following in the steps of his father, Enrico Chiesa, who had a sterling career for both Italy and Parma. Tomorrow, Federico will play in the Euro 2020 final for Italy against England.
