Griezman to Manchester City?

Manchester City could make an approach to sign Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann this summer.

The Blaugrana are facing major financial concerns, and they must lower their wage bill by €200m to come within the La Liga salary cap.

They are looking to offload some high-profile players. The club can't register new signings without meeting the new league rules.

According to French outlet Telefoot, Pep Guardiola has been in contact with Griezmann over a possible move to the Premier League.

Griezmann would be tempted to accept a new challenge with suggestions that a new contract for Lionel Messi may lead to his departure.

Messi is currently a free-agent after 17 years with the club. The Catalan giants are keen to keep him, but he is now treated as a new player.

They must register him alongside the new arrivals. The Blaugrana could reduce their wage bill significantly through Griezmann's exit.

They could lower their wage bill by around €40m, considering Griezmann's €350,000-a-week salary and amortisation payments.
