Tottenham Hotspur want Southampton star, but face Manchester City competition
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Southampton striker Danny Ings, but they are set to face competition from Manchester City.
The England international has impressed for the Saints, registering 46 goals from just 100 appearances in all competitions.
He has entered the final year of his contract, and reports claim that he has no intention of extending his stay with the south coast outfit.
According to The Telegraph, Spurs are lining up a bid for Ings amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Harry Kane.
Kane has been linked with a big-money move away from the north London club with interest from Manchester City and Chelsea.
Spurs' hierarchy are reluctant to lose their prized asset, but a fee of around £150m could change their transfer stance.
Meanwhile, reports elsewhere claim that Ings is also on the radar of City with Pep Guardiola an admirer of his qualities.
Guardiola wants a poacher in the box, and believes Ings would score plenty of goals with the chances created by his team.
Ings is valued at around £20 million by Transfermarkt.
