Chelsea star set to join Serie A giants on a two-year deal
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is set to sign a two-year deal with AC Milan following a successful medical.
The Frenchman underwent a series of medical tests today, and he is expected to sign his contract this weekend.
Giroud netted 11 goals for the Blues last term, but he was largely on the fringes, and was used from the bench.
The Blues extended his contract for another year, but it was clear that the striker wanted to leave the club.
They have agreed a nominal fee of €1m for the marksman with an additional €700k in the form of add-ons.
Giroud will be officially unveiled by the Rossoneri on Saturday or Sunday.
He is likely to lead the line regularly for them next season amid doubts over the fitness of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic netted 19 goals last season, but he was sidelined by injuries for a major part of the campaign.
He underwent a knee surgery earlier this year. Milan could handle the 39-year-old with caution next season.
