Arsenal confirm new long-term deal for playmaker
Arsenal have confirmed that Emile Smith Rowe has put pen-to-paper on a new five-year contract with the club.
The 20-year-old was recently the subject of interest from Aston Villa, but the Gunners made it clear that he was not for sale.
He had two years left on his previous deal. The Gunners have now extended his stay until June 2026 with a likely pay rise.
Meanwhile, the playmaker will also don the iconic number 10 jersey next season, most recently worn by Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners recently called their pre-season tour of Florida after some minor coronavirus cases within the travelling squad.
They are scheduled to play friendlies against Tottenham and Chelsea next month, but could arrange two more pre-season games.
Those will be played before the Mind Series. The Gunners are expected to announce their opponents in the coming days.
Arsenal start their 2021/22 Premier League campaign with an away trip to newly-promoted Brentford on Friday, August 13th.
