Manchester United defender expected to join Aston Villa on loan
Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe will make the move to Aston Villa on a season-long loan, Sky Sports reports.
The 23-year-old played under 1000 minutes for the Red Devils last season, and he has been fancied to move elsewhere.
Tuanzebe's current contract expires in June 2022, and it is reported that the club will extend the deal for another 12 months.
They are expected to loan him out thereafter. Villa are clear favourites to land his signature ahead of Newcastle United.
Villa currently have Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa as their centre-backs, but they are eyeing more competition for places.
Tuanzebe can play in central defence or right-back. He would be a quality addition for the club ahead of next season.
Villa have high ambitions for next term, and they have already made four big-name signings in the transfer window.
They have landed the services of Ashley Young, Emiliano Buendia, Leon Bailey and Danny Ings. Ings' move was a surprise.
