Leicester City make transfer decision on Arsenal target James Maddison
Leicester City won't entertain any part exchange deals for midfielder James Maddison this summer, Football Insider reports.
The England international has emerged as a top target for Arsenal, and they recently made a proposal to sign him.
The Gunners offered Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson alongside cash for Maddison, but it was rejected outright.
The Foxes are reluctant to lose Maddison, and they won't sanction his sale for anything less than £70 million this summer.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is eyeing three more signings before the transfer deadline. A creative midfielder remains a priority.
It remains to be seen whether they are willing to meet the Foxes' demands. Aside from Maddison, Martin Odegaard is also on the radar.
Odegaard spent the second half of last season on loan with the Gunners. He left a good impression on Arteta and the backroom staff.
Real Madrid value him at around £42m. The deal remains complicated as they are likely to demand a buy-back clause.
