Real Madrid set to keep Martin Odegaard after injury blow
Real Madrid are expected to keep Arsenal target Martin Odegaard after an injury sustained by midfielder Toni Kroos.
The Norwegian spent the back end of last season on loan with the Gunners, registering two goals and two assists from 20 games.
The club are exploring a permanent deal for his services this summer, but AS claims that a move is unlikely to happen any more.
Kroos is sidelined for at least a month with a groin injury. Odegaard and Dani Ceballos are expected to stay to provide cover.
Ceballos spent the past two seasons on loan with the Gunners. Earlier this week, it was claimed that he could be sold.
The duo are now expected to stay with Madrid until January before the hierarchy will make a decision on their futures.
Arsenal are interested in signing a creative midfielder. Apart from Odegaard, James Maddison is on their radar.
Maddison could cost a staggering £70 million from Leicester City.
