Lingard on the move?

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is ready to leave the club this month amid concerns over his playing time.

The 28-year-old was on the fringes of the first team last season before leaving for West Ham United on loan in January.

The move revived his flagging career. He bagged a sublime nine goals and six assists from just 16 outings for the Hammers.

According to The Times, the attacker is now assessing his options and will leave United unless he is assured regular game time.

That appears unlikely to happen with the fierce competition for places for an attacking role under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Lingard has less than 11 months left on his existing deal, and the Hammers are expected to make a late attempt to re-sign him.

They have recently received encouragement from the Red Devils. The club have slashed the asking price from £30m to £20m.

The Hammers still need to negotiate personal terms with Lingard.
