Chelsea defender makes the move to Ligue 1
Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has joined Lyon on a season-long loan, the club have confirmed.
The Italy international struggled for game time under Thomas Tuchel during the back end of last season.
Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell got the regular nod over him for the left wing-back position.
His position was unlikely to change this term. He has now made the switch to Les Gones on a temporary deal.
The Blues have not mentioned a buy clause, but reports claim that Les Gones will have an option to keep him.
A fee of around €15m has been speculated as the future fee.
The Blues are aiming to reduce their wage bill and squad numbers ahead of the transfer deadline on August 31.
They are likely to make one more marquee signing this summer. They have their sights on landing Jules Kounde.
The Frenchman has a €90m release clause on his Sevilla contract, but he could be prised away for around €70m.
