Chelsea lining up move for French defender
Chelsea are reportedly preparing a fresh approach for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
The Blues have recently been offloading players, and they are currently on the cusp of selling Kurt Zouma to West Ham United.
The departure of Zouma is expected to intensify the pursuit of Kounde, who has been their main central defensive target.
They attempted to sign him for €35m plus Zouma earlier this summer, but Sevilla made it clear that they want only cash.
Kounde's release clause is currently at €90m, but the La Liga outfit are willing to accept around €70m up front for his sale.
The Blues will need to act fast in the pursuit of the France international as Sevilla may want to purchase a replacement first.
Kounde has already agreed personal terms over a five-year deal with the Blues. He previously snubbed a move to Tottenham.
Aside from Kounde, the Blues are actively looking into a deal for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez. He could arrive on loan.
