Arsenal set to lose striker on a free transfer
Arsenal could lose Eddie Nketiah for free after failing to offload him during the summer transfer window, The Sun reports.
The Gunners were keen on selling the striker this summer, but they could not finalise his exit before the transfer deadline.
Crystal Palace were willing to meet the £12 million price tag, but Nketiah's £60,000-a-week wages demands put them off.
According to The Sun, the 21-year-old has no plans of renewing his deal with the north London club after falling out-of-favour.
He could sign a pre-contract with a foreign club when the transfer window reopens. Bayer Leverkusen are keen on landing him.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Brighton & Hove Albion were also interested in landing the England youth international last month.
The Seagulls signed Abdallah Sima from Slavia Prague, but he was immediately loaned out to Stoke City for the season.
They may be eyeing a striker with Premier League experience, and may seek to pursue a cut-price deal for Nketiah in January.
