Liverpool prioritising new deal for €100m-rated attacker

Mohamed Salah news

Salah set for new Liverpool deal?

Liverpool are prioritising a new contract for Mohamed Salah this month, according to Liverpool Echo.

The Reds have placed their focus on renewing player contracts this summer, and they have been highly successful.

They have extended the deals of several key players including Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson.

Their priority now lies on the future of Salah whose existing contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Salah is currently on £200,000-a-week. It was recently claimed that he wants a hefty package of £500,000 weekly.

This has now been dismissed by Echo, who report that Salah is not demanding anywhere close to that figure.

He could still earn a club-record salary with the extension. Van Dijk is the club's highest earner at £220,000-a-week.

The Reds stumbled in their title defence last term amid injuries. They finished just fourth in the league standings.

Salah, who is valued at €100m by Transfermarkt, was hugely influential with 22 goals. The Reds are determined to renew his deal at the earliest possibility.
