Chelsea defender hints at new long-term contract
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has hinted that he is close to signing a new long-term contract at the west London club.
The Dane has been a regular for the Blues in the back three, and he has been preferred ahead of Thiago Silva this season.
Christensen is currently in the final year of his contract, but it has been reported that he will sign a new four-year deal soon.
In an interview with Extra Bladet, the centre-back refused to confirm the renewal, but said that the Blues are the right place to be.
He said: "I can't say too much, but I think it looks good. I am very happy to be at this club and feel Chelsea are the right place to be in England."
Aside from Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta are also in negotiations over new contracts beyond next summer.
While Azpilicueta is expected to pen a new deal, there are still doubts whether Rudiger will extend his stay amid Real Madrid interest.
