Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly snubbed the opportunity to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus.

The Reds were widely fancied to sign a new midfielder this summer after Georginio Wijnaldum's Bosman move to PSG.

According to The Mirror, Monchengladbach had offered the Reds the chance to sign Neuhaus as they needed to raise cash.

The Germany international has a £34 million release clause on his contract, but they were willing to sell him for just £21m.

However, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp turned down the chance to sign him as he was satisfied with the options at his disposal.

Since the beginning of the season, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and highly-rated Harvey Elliott have featured in the club's midfield.

The latter is comfortable playing on the right wing, but is now being transformed into a midfielder as he can't displace Mohamed Salah.

The Reds have seven points on the board after three league games into the season. They face Leeds United on the road this weekend.
