West Ham will return for Manchester United attacker in January
West Ham United will make a fresh approach for Jesse Lingard when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Hammers were keen on signing Lingard on a permanent basis this summer following a successful loan stint with them.
However, a transfer did not materialise as the attacker made it clear that he would like to fight for his place with United.
According to Football Insider, the Hammers may try again for Lingard in January depending on his contract situation.
Lingard has 10 months left on his deal. He recently snubbed a two-year extension as he wanted assurances of game time.
If his situation stays unchanged, the Hammers could have the chance of signing him on a cut-price deal at the turn of the year.
United were looking for around £30m for Lingard last summer, but he may be available for a significantly lesser fee in January.
The Hammers signed Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow after Lingard's refusal. The Croatian could make his debut this weekend.
