Leicester City want Jesse Lingard

Leicester City could compete with West Ham United to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard, Fichajes reports.

Lingard had a promising loan spell with the Hammers earlier this year, bagging nine goals and six assists from 16 appearances.

Despite this, he refused to join the London club on a permanent deal this summer as he was determined to fight for his United spot.

Lingard has only featured off the bench so far. He recently rejected a new contract as he wants the assurance of regular starts.

According to Fichajes, there is the possibility that Lingard could be sold on a cut-price deal during the January transfer window.

The Hammers are likely to revive their pursuit, but they could face stiff competition from the Foxes to land his services.

The Foxes have made a mixed beginning to the current campaign with two wins and two defeats from four league matches.

They have lacked the presence of a right-winger to make key goal contributions. Lingard would be a quality solution.
