Manchester United want to hand new contracts to key duo

Manchester United are planning to prioritise contract talks for Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in the coming weeks, The Sun reports.

Fernandes has been a revelation for the Red Devils since his move from Sporting last year. He has managed 70 goal contributions so far.

He has another four years left on his contract, but the club are keen to reward him for his efforts with a new and improved deal, as per The Sun.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also optimistic of extending the stay of Pogba whose contract concludes at the end of the current campaign.

The World Cup winner can negotiate a pre-contract with an overseas club at the turn of the year, but United are keen to avoid that situation.

They are ready to hand him wages of around £400,000-a-week that would make him the second-highest paid player in Premier League history.

Cristiano Ronaldo is presently the highest-paid player in the league with a reported salary of nearly £500,000 on a weekly basis.
