Bayern Munich enter race to sign Chelsea defender

Antonio Rudiger news

Rudiger on Bayern radar

Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, according to Bild.

The centre-back has been with the Blues for the past five years, but he could leave on a free transfer next summer.

He has entered the final year of his contract, and there has been no progress over a renewal due to salary differences.

Rudiger wants around £200,000-a-week to extend his stay, but the Blues are refusing to offer him more than £150,000.

It is now reported that German champions have made contact with Rudiger's brother, who also happens to be his agent.

They are keen on negotiating a pre-contract at the turn of the year, but the German is still eyeing a new Blues deal.

Fresh talks are planned next month, and the meeting could decide whether Rudiger stays or pursues a fresh challenge.

The 28-year-old is garnering plenty of interest. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen.
