Everton sign Van de Beek in January?

Everton could make a fresh approach for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek during the January transfer window.

The Toffees were keen on landing the Dutchman on loan last month, but United rejected the proposal after the intervention of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer was reluctant to sanction the midfielder's temporary exit. He held talks with the Netherlands international over his future plans for him.

Things have not changed much since. Van de Beek continues to remain an unused substitute when it comes to the Premier League games.

The Dutchman was recently axed from the international squad with Louis van Gaal highlighting his lack of regular playing time at club level.

Van de Beek will be aware that he needs consistent game time to return to the national team fold ahead of next year's World Cup in Qatar.

He may push for a mid-season exit, and reports claim that the Toffees will be among the front-runners to sign him on a temporary basis.
