City keen on Osimhen

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has emerged as a top transfer target for Manchester City to bolster the centre-forward department.

The Nigeria international joined the Naples outfit from Lille last summer for around £70m, and he had an average debut season with just 10 goals.

However, he has taken his game to the next level this term. The 22-year-old has already amassed nine goals from just 12 appearances.

His performances are being closely watched by the Cityzens, who failed to bring in a new striker to replace Sergio Aguero this summer.

It is unlikely that the English champions will land the marksman in January, and may have to wait until next summer to make their move.

Osimhen is expected to cost in upwards of £100m, but the Cityzens have the financial muscle, having spent a similar fee on Jack Grealish.

The club have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland, who has a £65m release clause that becomes active next summer.
