Chelsea defender in advanced talks with Real Madrid?
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid, according to journalist Pedro Almeida.
The German has less than eight months remaining on his existing deal, and he has yet to be convinced to extend his contract.
The Blues have not given up on prolonging his stay, but Rudiger can finalise a pre-contract with an overseas club in January.
Real Madrid are deemed to be in pole position to sign him. They have already held discussions with the player's representative.
Rudiger reportedly wants around £200,000-a-week to sign a new deal with the Blues, but the hierarchy are reluctant to meet his demands.
Fresh talks are planned after the international break, but reports claim that the player is unlikely to change their stance on wages.
The Blues are currently top of the league standings, but their lead could be cut to one point if Liverpool beat West Ham today.
Rudiger has been almost ever-present in the back three. Thomas Tuchel has publicly stated that he wants his compatriot to stay.
