William Saliba to join Marseille permanently?
Marseille are reportedly interested in landing William Saliba on a permanent basis from Arsenal.
The Frenchman is currently in his third loan spell away from the Gunners. He has already kept eight clean sheets for Marseille.
According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Les Phoceens have been left hugely impressed by the impact of the Gunners ace.
He has become an integral part of their backline, and they are now keen to keep him beyond the expiry of his loan deal next summer.
Marseille will open talks with the Gunners on a permanent move, but it remains unclear whether the London club will negotiate.
Saliba was signed by the Gunners for around £27m in 2019. They will want to recoup the entire fee if the centre-back is sold.
That could be a possibility next summer. Saliba will enter the final two years of his contract. He has no plans of renewing his deal.
Saliba has also been linked with Newcastle United in the past. After their Saudi-based takeover, they could enter the pursuit.
